Drawing can be a kind of creative play and storytelling. In this workshop Bill Hope will discuss his path from commercial illustration into children’s publishing and the lessons he has learned about collaboration, writing and creative ideation along the way. In the second half of the workshop we will explore some of the drawing exercises Bill has developed with Andy Griffiths as part of their new book on creativity called ‘Let’s Go!’
Participants will learn some ways to get their students drawing and coming up with stories in a way that is fast and lots of fun.
Bill Hope is an artist and illustrator living in the Blue Mountains. Having spent 10 years as a commercial illustrator working with everyone from Disney to Amazon, Bill is now focussed on a career in children’s publishing.
In collaboration with best selling Australian author Andy Griffiths he has developed the ‘You and Me’ series and is set to release the educational book 'Let’s Go!’ in February 2026.
Bill’s personal art practice is represented through the Lost Bear Fine Art Gallery and he is commercially represented by The Jacky Winter Group.
