About the Session

About the Session

Join artist Kenny Pittock to learn sculpting tips and techniques on how to playfully make sculptures that look good enough to eat!

Based around the theme of a picnic, participants will learn to sculpt their favourite thing they'd like to bring to a picnic, (food, or a book, or something else of personal significance). Food is very emotive and nostalgic and wrapped up in such personal stories and I like that people can bring their own memories and experiences to the work.

Working both from life and from memory, participants will learn about shape, texture and colour, as well as sink our teeth into the fun and practicalities of working with clay.

Once we've made our sculptures, the final result will be to display them all on an actual picnic rug, or better yet, on a painting of one. Come turn your master feast into a masterpiece!
